One of the things a Neighborhood Watch is all about is to create a sense of community...we all have issues and things we have seen that concern us--from the senseless death of an Ecuadorian immigrant, to seeing the car next to ours jacked up on bricks with the tires stolen, to the more pedestrian happenings such as the unlawful dumping of litter. What we would like to know is what concerns YOU--hate crimes? noisy parties? the sounds of possible domestic abuse in the apartment next to yours? No one's concerns are any less valid than anyone else's.
We welcome you to post your comments on this blog...after all, this is meant to be a community forum. Just please...no bashing of other people or groups...this is meant to be a place where people share information and present ideas to improve our quality of life here in Patchogue. After all, many of us live here because we love this town...its funky, artsy vibe; the restaurants; the diversity; the microbreweries; the fact that for a night out, most of us could walk to where we'd like to go!
As for this blog, information is the single most important thing that will help us deter bad things from happening. On that note, here's an update of some of the latest crime reports in our community (1/17 to 1/23):
Two incidents of harassment
Two reports of theft
One report of domestic dispute
One report of vandalism
Two reports of burglary
Do you have anything to report? Let us know at westpatnw@gmail.com, we look forward to hearing from you!
